We have another installment today in
our look at the 1990 Topps Mini League Leaders set, still in Oakland, today with starting pitcher Mike Moore.
|
#31, Mike Moore. |
Moore was the #2 starter on the world champion A's, going 19-11 in 1989, behind ace Dave Stewart. Moore pitched in the majors from 1982 through 1995, starting with the Mariners, then moving to Oakland, and finishing out with Detroit. He made his only All-Star appearance in 1989, which was one of his two best career seasons, along with 1991, also with the A's.

Mike Moore card back. |
To get into this league leaders set, Moore finished #3 in the AL in ERA with 2.61 and tied for third in wins with 19. The card back gives some other stats, such as tying for 4th in shutouts with 3.
Thanks for reading. Next up in the series, next Monday, is the ace of the A's, Dave Stewart, before the set moves on to Seattle.
